Ok..my work ethic are not that good..but I do have work ethic.
I’ve been complimented by several people about my work ethic, and while I appreciate those compliments, I’m still trying to figure out whether that work ethic is a blessing or a curse.
Really, what is a good work ethic?
So when I Wiki "work ethic" this came up.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Work_ethic
So what actually define a good work ethic?
For me, these below would define a good work ethic:-
1. Strong Work Ethic
2. Dependability and Responsibility
3. Possessing a Positive Attitude.
4. Adaptability
5. Honesty and Integrity
6. Respect and Trust
I’ve heard many times that “overnight success” takes a long time and a lot of effort to achieve. There are times when I think, “Will I ever get there?” (wherever there is), and I usually follow that question with, “Am I just expecting too much too quickly? Have I really worked long enough and hard enough to deserve success?”
My work normally starts 8.30am everyday so I'll make sure I'm there before 8.30am. And 8.30am is the time I'm at my desk start my work. Not eating breakfast or making coffee!!
There were some of my colleague who actually already late, ate their breakfast like they're there early, chit chat/ gossiping..and then only start to work at 9.30am. (Imagine if they only reach at office 9.30am,what time would they start their work?)
Personal calls/stuffs should be done at personal hours. Sometimes,it's understandable when you actually need to deal with the situation right away, but not MOST of the times. And it's annoying to listen to your colleague "love" calls. DO IT PRIVATELY!!
To seniors, kindly show a good sample.
Your boss won't kill you if you want to take five minutes break, but make sure you've done your part. After all, we're all human being.
And we're not slaves.
Just don't ABUSE your rights.
